Introduction


PExBuilder-D251 is a completely controllable & observable PCI Express Endpoint. A separate desktop/laptop attachment is required to interface to the endpoint across its PCI port. PExBuilder-D251 consists of the PCI Express add in card and software running on Windows 2000/XP. The exerciser generates user controlled traffic and the Built-In Analyzer captures all transactions and displays them in a user-friendly interface.

  • Supports PCI Express Base Specification Revision 1.0 and 1.0A
  • Supports x1 link    
  • Provides capability for Enable/Disable scrambling
  • Provides facility to revert Tx polarity.
  • Adjusts RX polarity as appropriate
  • Supports loop back facility
  • Supports Disable link and Hot reset detection
  • Performs Flow Control Initialization and Management
  • Performs Link Initialization and Training
  • Provides true Initiator and Completer capability
  • Allows simple scripting to generate PCI Express traffic

PExBuilder-D251 can initiate:

  • 32 & 64 bit addresses for Memory requests, IO requests & Messages

PExBuilder-D251 can complete:

  • Configuration read/write requests, 32 & 64 bit addresses for Memory requests & IO requests

PExBuilder-D251 can generate these errors:
  • Link Training error, Disparity error, Length error in training sequence

  • Clock correction sequence jitter, Forced recovery, Forced ACK/ NAK

  • LCRC error, CRC16 error, Sequence number error in TLP and ACK/NAK DLLPs

  • Undue replay, Ignore scheduled replay, Ignore received ACK/NAK

  • Block ACK, NAK, UpdateFC-P, UpdateFC-NP, InitFC1, InitFC2 DLLPs

  • Transmission of non-credited TLP, Invalid values for all fields in TLP

PExBuilder-D251 can report these errors:

  • Link Training Error, Unsupported Request (UR),

  • Bad Training Sequence, Bad DLLP, Bad TLP

  • Replay timeout, Replay num overrun , Completer Abort, Unexpected Completion

  • DLL protocol error, Receiver overflow, Poisoned TLP Received, ECRC Check Failed

PExBuilder-D251 User Interface:

PExBuilder-D251 has a Built-in Analyzer which can support:
  • Capture and Display of transmitted and received packets

  • Field level packet decoding

  • User selectable packet field filters

  • PCI Express loop back data buffer- Edit and Display

  • Protocol error detection

  • Easy to use graphical interface

  • Packet View, Configuration View and Various Display Options

PExBuilder-D251 Debug Features:

  • Provides easy access to Logical signals.

  • Provides ability to monitor PHY layer state machine progress during Link training.

  • Captures transmitted and received data to single step the different LTSSM states.

  • Triggers are provided on different packets and error conditions.

PExBuilder-D251 Script Features:

  • ASCII file to generate all the PCI Express traffic

  • Script language includes conditional branching
